And over the years I've managed to discover a few gems among the discards.
For instance, the super cheap Stridex pads, made for acne, work as well on my skin (pores, fine lines and wrinkles) as the fancy anti-aging products ever did. I've used the sensitive skin pads for almost a year now and I'm as happy with my skin as I was when I was using the expensive prescription Renova. They don't have any alcohol in them so they're not drying, and the salicylic acid exfoliates really well. And, it costs like $4 or something crazy like that. The best thing is I'm no longer tempted to go back to the dermatologist for Renova.
So I guess there is a silver lining to 'sharing' beauty products with daughters. I do wish my youngest would come home soon, though. I'm going to need one of those hairbrushes...eventually.
Are there any unexpected 'finds' in your beauty routine?
The one thing I love is Aquaphor, which you can only get in the US, so I'm always buying it in bulk or tracking it down on Ebay.
ReplyDeleteWow there's a lot to choose from on that counter...sounds like it calls for an in home spa day Sue..and don't worry wild and messy hair happens at the best spas!
ReplyDeleteYikes, it looks like a CVS shelf! LOL!!! I try to keep it simple, but the older I get, the more I seem to need! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I may have had less products in my entire college dorm than that collection.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree, Stridex Sensitive is the best. I use it after my workout routine to keep my face from braking out. I also absolutely love Neutrogina sunscreen because it doesn't clog my pores and it isn't as horribly shiny as other sunscreens. I even got my boyfriend using it.
