Fall farmer's markets---not just gourds and pumpkins

Fall is my favorite time to go to a farmer's market.  It's not hot or overcrowded, and the stalls are filled with interesting produce.  In the fall the markets get creative, you never know what you'll find...last week we got Chicken Vindaloo, a few beautiful hollowed out goose eggs, and a pumpkin made out of felted wool along with our bags of tomatoes and onions.

This season has a way of reminding us that time is slipping by.  I managed to miss quite a few markets this summer, but I'm making sure to get to every one this fall.

  2. Sue,

Your farmer's market looks fantastic...your photos are gorgeous. The colors, the angles...so pretty! I think I would like one of those cider donuts and a cup of coffee while I strolled through.

  7. Beautiful photos, Sue. But I confess, I love seeing all the pumpkins, gourds and squash this time of year! (And cider and donuts too!)

  8. Darby---I forgot to mention that we learned they are called swan neck gourds (or squash, I can't remember), aren't they great? It really looked like a herd of swans there on the table.
