Fall farmer's markets---not just gourds and pumpkins
Fall is my favorite time to go to a farmer's market. It's not hot or overcrowded, and the stalls are filled with interesting produce. In the fall the markets get creative, you never know what you'll find...last week we got Chicken Vindaloo, a few beautiful hollowed out goose eggs, and a pumpkin made out of felted wool along with our bags of tomatoes and onions.
This season has a way of reminding us that time is slipping by. I managed to miss quite a few markets this summer, but I'm making sure to get to every one this fall.
WOW your farmer's market looks A-Mazing!
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteYour farmer's market looks fantastic...your photos are gorgeous. The colors, the angles...so pretty! I think I would like one of those cider donuts and a cup of coffee while I strolled through.

Oh, wow! Amazing colours! I love going to farmers' markets! I especially loved those white eggplants in the pink/mauve egg carton! Don't you just love those tigerella tomatoes? I find them so tasty!
ReplyDeleteI could make a job of going to Farmer's Markets. The one you attended looks wonderful. I love the mini white eggplant in the egg cartons.
ReplyDeleteTerrific photos! I saw so many things I want!
ReplyDeleteWhat are those Dr. Seuss-like vegitables 4th from the bottom?
ReplyDeleteEverything looks amazing!
Beautiful photos, Sue. But I confess, I love seeing all the pumpkins, gourds and squash this time of year! (And cider and donuts too!)
ReplyDeleteDarby---I forgot to mention that we learned they are called swan neck gourds (or squash, I can't remember), aren't they great? It really looked like a herd of swans there on the table.
ReplyDeleteI just adore going to the farmers market! It looks like you have a jackpot of a market in your town!
ReplyDeleteI love the swan neck gourds! They look fantastic with a big orange ribbon! Oh, and the apple cider donuts . . . mmm mmm mmm!
