Oh those are beautiful. I think they are Dahlias. Dahlias and Zinnias both make me very happy. Not very fallesque here. No leaves left to change ater Irene!
Nantucket Daffodil---oops, you're right, I realized it right after I signed off. Dahlia's are amazing flowers, so varied. They were all over the town, and all their gorgeous colors actually kind of clashed with the turning leaves!
