In Los Angeles
We're finally in Los Angeles. I'm staying at my sister's house and we headed straight over to the farmer's market this morning.
Eating in the car for the past 8 or 9 days has left me with no interest in food whatsoever.
I need a salad.
It's going to help me blot out the memory of all those those nuggets, strips, bites, rings, fries, shakes, doughnuts, value meals, breakfast biscuits, snack wraps and random stuff in little boxes, bags, tubs and pouches.
It doesn't matter what goes into this salad, it's just salad for salad's sake
and it's going to renew my faith in food
bite by leafy bite...
I bet it tasted wonderful. Glad you arrived safely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan, I'm trying to stay positive but my heart is in New England.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you had a safe journey. There's nothing like a Farmers' Market IMO!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see that you have finally arrived. I'd be willing to bet that it will be a VERY long time before you crave fast and easy food again. That salad is beautiful with all the colors and I'm sure that it tasted like heaven to your deprived taste-buds!
ReplyDeletePraying that you'll find your new home much more easily than expected. If nothing else, there is a positive side to the move in the amazing fresh produce that you will have at your fingertips!
Oh man, it must feel good to be out of the car! Hope you get settled in swiftly and with as little stress as possible! Beautiful start to this chapter :D
ReplyDeleteNow that looks refreshing!
ReplyDeleteAh, a California farmer's market--heaven! You will be able to get lovely produce pretty much all year around! And that salad looks wonderful. Now I'm craving salad for breakfast. Was that feta in the salad?
ReplyDeleteThat is the best looking salad I've ever seen. So glad you made it! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you made it. I understand about road food - poooh! Enjoy that beautiful salad - love the farmers market photos - beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about "car food". We've made some major moves with young children. Even they asked for "real" food after awhile.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with settling in. We loved visiting L.A. when we lived in La Jolla.
Best,
Bonnie
